10 “More” New Year’s Resolutions You Should Actually Make

10 "more" New Year's Resolutions we think more people should make this year.

Eat more vegetables

The more color your plate contains, the better. Especially during pregnancy when you need a lot of different vitamins and minerals! Experiment with new and different vegetables this year. You might just find a new favorite, and avoid some extra pregnancy weight gain.

Give more

Being generous and giving feeds your soul and benefits you just as much as the person on the receiving end. Volunteering, donating to charity, or just giving of your time to help a friend in need are all ways to give MORE this year.

Take more care of yourself

As the saying goes, you can't serve others with an empty vessel. Take care of yourself in 2017. A hot bath at the end of a long day, 5 minutes of mindfulness in the morning, a new exercise routine, removing toxic people from your life, a massage, and a better diet are all ways of taking care of yourself so that you can be at your best to serve your family and loved ones when you need to.

Try more new things

It's easy to get into a rut when you're doing the same things day in and day out. Pregnancy and motherhood especially is the perfect time to try new things and get out of your rut. Trying new things gives you a new perspective, more experiences, and even greater confidence!

Be more confident

Nothing warrants confidence like being a mama! Even if you don't feel like you're rocking this pregnancy or motherhood thing, you and your body have done something amazing. Be confident! Rock your bump or your postpartum bod, because you are worthy of confidence and awe. Even if you have to fake it, you might find that you actually feel better about yourself.

Get more quality sleep

This is something we're sure we could all use "more" of! Sleep restores and rejuvenates your mind and body. Not getting enough sleep has both long and short term consequences that we want you to avoid! Being well rested is good for your health, your waistline, your mood, and your overall wellbeing. So get MORE sleep in 2017.

Spend more time with people you love

Hanging out with people you love is good for you and helps you stress less. Nothing is better than a good laugh session with a close friend or sister. You can even form healthy habits and hold each other accountable, and lift each other up when life giving you some serious blows. A solid support system is everything.

Be more efficient

The feeling of a having a productive day is almost euphoric. Nothing is worse than working all day, only to feel as if you got nothing done. To be productive, you must be efficient! Take small breaks, wake up early, create systems, and for the love of all that is good- stop multi-tasking!! This will leave you more time to relax and able to leave work at work.

Move more

Your New Year's Resolution to exercise more doesn't always have to mean going to the gym. Just MOVE. Take a bike ride, go for a walk, try yoga or pilates, play tennis, play with your kids, (or go to the gym, if that's what you like) just move in some way each day. Your body will thank you!

Give yourself more credit

During the course of 2017, there may be weeks (hey, maybe even months) where you won't meet your resolutions. Don't give yourself excuses, give yourself grace, and more credit. Life is hard. Being a mom is hard. The hardest, and most rewarding thing you'll ever do. Pick yourself up, wipe the spit up off your shirt, and pick up where you left off.
